There are some parts of a divorce you can get through. You can find new love. You can make back money. But when you wake up in the morning and your kids are not there; when they are growing-up and you cannot see it; when another man is raising them . . . that’s really hard. It may seem easier to quit. Men have been taught to turn off their feelings as a way of dealing with the pain; or telling themselves lies, like, “maybe they are better off without me.” Your kids need you. Your kids are not better off without you. You cannot deal with this by shutting down your feelings or by running from the pain. 

Be the model of strength for your children. Fight to be with them, even when it hurts. Fight to be with them even when it is expensive. Fight to be with them because they are hurting too through this process and they need you. You won’t regret it and they won’t either.
